How 220 Fitness is Reducing Traffic in the Community:

1. Park Cash-Out Program: Employer will pay employees who walk, ride bikes or take alternative transit other than a SOV a monthly amount equivalent to the market rate for parking in the immediate area, or an EZ Pass, whichever is greater. Such benefits will be paid on a pre-tax basis, to the extent allowed by law. Employer will also offer a reward program to participating employees. In addition, employees shall be required to pay for parking, whether on-site or off-site, a monthly amount equivalent to the marker rate for parking in the immediate are.

2. Limited Employee Parking Allowed On-Site: Employees must not park on-site, except in the upper level of the four (4) mechanical parking lift spaces. A monitoring and verification system acceptable to City staff will be implemented.

3. All on-site parking will be accessible to members through advance purchase of coupons or equivalent method of pre-paid, one-day parking privileges.

4. Employer will provide on-site bicycle parking (8), available for employees and customers.

5. Upon check-in, staff will keep track of method of arrival for each member. Members using alternative transportation will benefit by a rewards program to be designed by by the operator. The rewards program may include, but not limited to, discounts on cost of gym memberships or related services, free or reduced cost products, a point system redeemable for discounts on service or products, or other reward program features intended to be effective in incentivizing members to use alternative transportation methods.

6. Fitness programs will integrate walking or biking to the site as part of the exercise routine for members or customers/patients as part of an overall healthy lifestyle program.

7. The applicant shall comply with the SMMC Section 9.16, and be categorized as an employer of 50 or more employees regardless of the actual number of employees, with plan fees based on the actual number of employees. The applicant shall prepare and file Employee Trip Reduction Plans for the site that meet or exceed City requirements, as listed in 9.16.070 (e), to include an annual employee survey, a marketing plan, and posting information on an alternate commute options at the worksite. The applicant shall submit a plan, prior to commencement of the use, that it believes it will result in attaining and sustaining the City-wide AVR goal of 1.5 for both a.m and p.m. peak periods. Should the applicant not achieve the target AVR of 1.5 in any year, the applicant shall revise its strategies for the upcoming year subject to the approval of the Transportation Demand Program Manager, to achieve the performance target therin.

8. Transportation Information: The applicant will provide on-site information for employees and customers about transit services (including ride share programs and shuttles) and bicycle facilities (including routes and parking).

9. Employer (Applicant) shall give preference in hiring to those employees who will take mass transit, walk or ride bikes to work, or other alternative transportation methods other than driving a Single Occupant Vehicle (SOV) to work.
